Wedgwood Jasperware Portland Vase

£50.00
sold out

A 19th C small scale copy of the Portland Vase. The original is in the British Museum and was made most likely by the workshops of Cleopatra VI (yes, there were 7 in the dynasty, and it was that Cleopatra!) for Augustus. This model shows how a copy in a new material can sometimes work almost as well as the original, for me it encapsulates the genius of Wedgwood. The chip to the neck can only been seen from one side, so put it on a shelf and enjoy it, priced accordingly!

13cm h x 9.5cm w x 9.5cm d
